The Centre operates all year round

The Centre researchs, makes publications, plans and organises education all year round. Exhibition season is from May to December.

Grin PRESS - Humour in Finnish Photojournalism, 18.5.–17.8.2012

The center organized Grin - Humour in Finnish Photography in 2001–2002. It was a great success. Grin was also published as a book.

Grin PRESS will represent the most hilarious exposures by Finnish photojournalists. To be published as a book.

Great Guitar Show, summer 2013

The center organizes the Great Guitar Show for the summer 2013, which takes all the pleasure out of guitar, in many ways. The show will be international. It is also going to be published as a book.

This a brave reaching out to all guitar maniacs. The exhibition will also have side events such as concerts and ensemble opportunities.

New Publication Series launched

Two books were published by Mikkeli Centre of Photography, Mauri Toiviainen: Kadonnut kaupunki ja Veikko Salmela: Kivimies. These books were made in the digital workshop of the Centre. The book projects were led by MA Olli Jaatinen.

Visual Communication and Digital Photography 1

Two courses are held in Mikkeli Centre of Photography in the autumn of 2011: Visual Communication and Digital Photography 1. Enrollment through Mikkeli Community College.

Kimmo Räisänen's exhibitions are open

Kimmo Räisänen's exhibitions Natural Life and Citizens are open 2.9.–24.9.2011. They show two different views on photography. Citizens consists of newspaper photographs. Natural Life is a personal story about artist's father.

The New Mikkeli Centre of Photography opened on 4.12. at 10

Mikkeli Centre of Photography has moved from Hallituskatu and started in a new address in Puistokatu 3, 50100 Mikkeli.

The galleries of the centre were under construction until the end of November 2010. Our first exhibition, Muuttuva Mikkeli - Changing Mikkeli, was opened for the public on Saturday the 4th of December in 2010.

Research library.
